Alexey Koltakov
Pianist
Alexey Koltakov, now also a student at the Australian Institute of Music studying under Professor Victor Makarov, began his piano lessons at the age of six.
He studied with Professor Makarov at the age of 13. Since then he has won many prizes, including the Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev, the Prokofiev Competition, in Donetsk, and the Vladmir Krainev International Piano Competition, in Kharkov. |

The Chante Duo
Harp and Clarinet
Martha MacDonald and Delaine Fedson have been performing together since 1989 as members of the Austin Chamber Ensemble, touring throughout Texas France and Germany and performing on a regularly scheduled concert series in Austin. The clarinet/harp duo is unique and the repertoire performed is rarely heard. In addition to music by classical composers such as Bachofen, contemporary music by film composers Paul Reade and Alex Shapiro is programmed as well as a unique work for Eb, Bb and A clarinets and Harp by Houston composer Todd Frazier based on birds of the coastal Gulf region of Texas.

Trumpet
A Texas native with international roots has won and has been recognized in numerous solo competitions. He has premiered numerous solo and chamber works for trumpet from contemporary composers and is one of the three trumpeters in "NEXT" Ensemble, a group that incorporates baroque, jazz and classical/romantic trumpet in contemporary/experimental settings.

Lone Star Brass
Quintet
The string quartet, hired in 1977, was so successful that in 1981 the Lone Star Brass Quintet was formed by Symphony principals and has been in existence ever since. In addition to giving concerts in the Permian Basin, the quintet has toured the U.S. and Mexico and has issued several recordings. Michael Santorelli, Coprincipal Trumpet of the MidlandOdessa Symphony, has been a member of the quintet since its formation.

David Burgess
Classical Guitar
Praised by musicians and critics worldwide, David Burgess is recognized as one of today's outstanding guitarists. His international appearances as soloist and chamber musician have taken him to concert halls throughout North and South America, Europe and the Far East. First prize winner in the Andrés Segovia Fellowship Competition in New York City, he has also won top honors in the Ponce International Competition in Mexico City, the Guitar ‘81 Competition in Toronto and the 31st International Music Competition in Munich. Mr. Burgess currently resides in New York City where he has performed at Town Hall, Carnegie Recital Hall and Lincoln Center. |

Betty Mallard and David Renner
Pianists
Betty Mallard and David Renner, both on the piano faculty at The University of Texas at Austin, have been widely praised for their fourhand recitals since they began playing together in 1984. Their repertoire spans the entire history of fourhand music, from J. C. Bach, ...Mozart, and Schubert, to presentday composers. Performing throughout the United States, they have twice been invited to present lecturerecitals on fourhand playing at the Murray Dranoff International TwoPiano Symposium, have participated in American Matthay Festivals, and have recorded recitals for educational television (PBS). |
